Over the many (but who’s counting right?) years I’ve worked in the beauty industry I’ve heard lots of women talking about beauty treatments and facials.

And I never tire of it.

This might be ladies talking about how they’d love to try a facial if they’ve never had one. Or they may be asking about the best beauty treatments to invest in. And then there are those curious about injectables like fillers and muscle relaxants but who aren’t fans of needles. 😀😀😀

Tip: if you’re a woman who’s never had a facial please make it a priority (if the outlay won’t negatively impact your life). Every woman should experience at least one facial in her lifetime simply for the experience. But if your budget permits and you can make it a regular occurrence the improvements to your complexion will be palpable.

This brings me to the new Environ Focus Filler treatment.

Regular readers know I’m a huge fan (huge) of Environ skincare. It was founded by South African Plastic Surgeon Dr Des Fernandes and that’s one of the reasons for my respect of the brand. Dr Des continues to be a pioneer in the field of beauty and skincare so we can be assured his ingredients are well researched and work. But he doesn’t stop there, he also develops extraordinary technology and techniques such as micro needling.

What Is Environ’s new Focus Filler?

The Why:

This 30-minute treatment was developed due to the lockdown spike of interest in beauty treatments such as injectables. The upsurge occurred during and post-lockdown when people were seeing themselves on Zoom meetings regularly.

According to Environ, a trend towards more non-invasive treatments that offer easier, painless and more natural results is also being witnessed.

Never a beauty company to sit on its laurels Environ developed Focus On Filler to offer an alternative or complementary treatment to injectables and address the appearances of lines, wrinkles, skin laxity and loss of facial volume.

“As we age it is natural for the skin to lose fat in the dermis as well as hyaluronic acid. What many people need is to improve the cushion of fat in the skin and boost the hyaluronic acid status to make it look like the skin has been ‘re-inflated’. Environ’s R&D team aimed to develop a topical facial treatment that can be used to improve the appearance of well-cushioned skin”.- Dr Des Fernandes, Environ’s Founder & Scientific Director.

The What:

Focus On Filler is a 30-minute treatment that offers:

  • Smoothing, plumping, volumising effect
  • Natural-looking enhancement
  • Can be targeted areas such as lips, eyes, cheeks
  • Completely painless

Dual Effect Filler Serum

The treatment is combined with a new Dual Effect Filler Serum which is only available only as part of the treatment. It’s a serum designed to smooth and volumise. The facial can take place as soon as two weeks after a dermal filler injectable without the risk of dislodgement.

Technology

Focus On Filler can be undertaken on its own or added to an Environ Essential Facial with Electro-Sonic DF Technology (one of Dr Des’ groundbreaking innovations). It uses low-frequency sonophoresis (soundwaves) and pulsed iontophoresis (electric current) to diffuse up to 40 times more of the active ingredients to the skin.

For best results, a course of six treatments is recommended.

The Focus On Filler Road Test:

As I was in Tauranga I went to visit the Jamele Skincare Centre where Sharon from Environ looked after me.

I’d heard of Jamele because it’s something of an icon in this Bay of Plenty town and it didn’t disappoint. It’s a super spacious oasis in the city.

Sharon’s in her 50s and her skin looks amazing. I should have asked her for a photo. 😀 She said she’d had five Focus On Filler treatments and was noticing a big difference.

I lay down on the beauty therapy bed and Sharon cleansed my skin, then she applied the Environ Dual Effect Filler Serum. This is the one we talked about earlier that works on smoothing and volumising and is only available within the facial.

Sharon then used the Electro-Sonic DF device which is part of the magic (and the effect). See above under ‘Technology’. I’ve had this a few times over the years and it’s not uncomfortable but you are aware of it.

She then applied a mask to:

  • a. let all of the previous magic infuse and
  • b. add more skin-loving ingredients.

While the mask did its thing Sharon gave me a glorious head massage – one of my favourite options when having a facial treatment. It is sheer bliss. Further emphasis and an addendum on why every woman needs to have at least one facial in her lifetime. With a head massage. 😀

Finally, Sharon removed the mask and applied some moisturiser and protection to take me out into the day.

My Thoughts

Wenviron-focus-on-fillerhen I looked at my skin in the mirror it was glowing, noticeably smoother and it had an ‘I want that’ radiance to it. Another five treatments are recommended for me to get that ‘filler’ effect. It’s a goody.
